"How God Saved Me — A Story I Still Can’t Explain"

Fourteen years ago, my life changed forever.

I boarded a flight from Lagos to Sokoto — a Boeing 737 operated by ADC Airlines. It was meant to be a simple trip, with a short stop at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja. I remember the hum of the engines, the chatter of passengers, and the calm confidence that comes with routine travel. Nothing seemed out of place.

Then, moments after takeoff from Abuja, everything changed.

Without warning, the plane began to shake. The engines roared louder — not the usual hum, but something deeper, harsher. Panic rippled through the cabin. In a matter of seconds, the aircraft started to lose altitude. I could feel it — the sudden drop, the rush of air, the screams, the confusion.

And then… impact.

A violent crash. Fire. Chaos.

The next few moments were a blur — smoke, heat, cries for help, and the overwhelming realization that we had gone down. Ninety-six souls lost their lives that day. My heart still aches for every one of them and their families.

But out of that wreckage, somehow, God brought me out alive — without a single serious injury. I can’t explain it. I can’t fully understand it. All I know is that His hand was upon me.

So today, I raise an altar of praise to God — the One who saves, who delivers, who still works miracles.

If you’re reading this, please take a few seconds to lift a voice of thanksgiving to God on my behalf.

“Thanks be unto God, who always causes us to triumph in Christ.” — Amen.
